Why should you be forced to accept the stock options that your engine has to offer simply because it doesn't run on diesel? Now you can easily tune your gas engine and monitor vital data. The Triple Dog Gauge Tuner has a full-color, customizable screen that lets you monitor up to four different parameters at once. In addition to these parameters, the screen also features a large display that can be customized to show one of three different gauge styles (analog, analog with mini-graph, or full graph) or the Driving Coach display.
Engine Tuning
Choose from three power levels to custom tune your engine. Note: Damage can result when using the Premium level with engines that do not run on high-octane fuel.

Set parameters quickly and easily through the Gauge Setup Menu. Note: Not all of the following are available for all applications.
Real-time fuel economy
Average fuel economy
Trip fuel economy
Engine load - no load = 0 percent; maximum load capacity = 100 percent
Coolant temperature
Fuel pressure
Manifold absolute pressure
Engine RPM
Speed (mph or kph)
Timing position
Intake temperature - at point where OEM sensor is installed within air intake stream
Mass airflow (grams/second) - amount of air entering air intake stream
Throttle position - idle position = 0 percent; full throttle = 100 percent
Fuel level
Battery voltage
Ambient air temperature
Air fuel ratio
You can monitor up to four parameters at a time, with each displayed along the left side of your screen. To view detailed information about any one of those factors, touch the button next to it, and the large gauge area on the right will display the information for that parameter.
Maximize Fuel Economy
Running the Driving Coach program turns your gauge display into an information hub for tracking your fuel economy. Monitoring the information presented here will give you a good indication of how your driving habits affect your fuel economy and overall engine performance.
The Instant Fuel Economy graph shows real-time gas usage. This can be displayed in either miles per gallon or kilometers per liter. The Wasted Energy graph shows your acceleration and deceleration in relation to a base centerline. The centerline represents zero wasted energy. If you accelerate or decelerate too quickly, a color bar will extend out from the centerline, so you can see how much energy that move just cost you.
The Report Card graph indicates your overall engine performance and fuel economy, and it ranges from "A" for optimal performance to "Epic Fail," indicating the need for a tune-up, as well as a change in driving habits.
If you're not interested in fuel economy and are really only in this for the extra horsepower and torque, you can remove the Driving Coach from your monitor and instead view a large gauge of any chosen data.
Special Features for Ford and Lincoln
The Triple Dog GT has several features that are unique to Ford and Lincoln applications. You can, for example, download a Firm Tune for your automatic transmission. This tune adjusts shift firmness and shift points to optimize your Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty's performance. You can also calibrate your speedometer to correct for tire sizes ranging from 24 inches to 35 inches. The speed limit setting on your Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty can be raised as well. Note: These features may not be available for all models and years.

VW Pickup concept (2008): first official photos
Wed, 24 Sep 2008By Chris Chilton First Official Pictures 24 September 2008 18:00 He’s designed Alfa Romeos, Audis and even a Lamborghini but now Walter de'Silva has gone all humanitarian and designed a pick-up. VW’s first small flatbed since the Mk1 Golf-based Caddy will take on trucks like the Toyota Hilux and Mitusbishi L200 when it goes on sale late in 2009. It is, but not for long. This thinly veiled concept, called simply Pickup Concept, has been designed as a search and rescue vehicle for coastguards but essentially this is what badge-conscious UK builders will be driving in 2009. The new Volkswagen corporate face with its monobrow top grille and wide mouth is likely to be carried over mostly unchanged to the cars that will roll off the South African production line, as will the surprisingly stylish interior which features hooded instruments and Audi TT-style air vents. Mechanical details are sketchy but Volkswagen claims that engines will be common-rail diesels which rules out the old-tech 2.5 five pot that powers many of VW’s current commercials.
VW Golf Bluemotion concept (2008): first pictures
Mon, 08 Sep 2008By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 08 September 2008 13:22 This is Volkswagen’s cleanest Mk6 Golf, a Bluemotion concept car that is claimed to achieve 74mpg while puffing out a paltry 99g/km. Those are figures on a par with today’s Polo Bluemotion, but this concept will become production reality in mid-2009. A 1.6-litre common-rail diesel engine powers the new Golf Bluemotion, producing 104bhp and 184lb ft, but those remarkable figures are helped by revised ratios on the five-speed ‘box, optimised aerodynamics and low rolling resistance tyres. There’s also a particulate filter to keep the exhaust gases clean.
