Chevrolet Trax: Price from £15,495
Fri, 01 Mar 2013The Chevrolet Trax – the Chevrolet version of the Vauxhall and Opel Mokka – will cost from £15,495 in the UK. First cars in July 2013. With a Chevy makeover that adds new front and back ends and Chevrolet badges, the Trax looks a decent urban crossover come SUV effort from Chevrolet and offers an alternative for those who fancy a Mokka but want to stand out from the crowd (and spend less money).
Audi A1 Quattro models ‘on the way’
Wed, 12 Jan 2011Audi has confirmed it is testing four-wheel drive Quattro versions of the A1 – indicating an imminent expansion of Audi’s supermini range. Although showcased as this one-off at a Quattro publicity event in Montreal, Canada, to celebrate 30 years of the all-corner drive system, Ingolstadt acknowledged at last autumn’s 2010 Paris motor show that Quattro versions of the A1 were in the pipeline. The production A1 Quattro will use the Haldex differential to split drive to both axles; it’s a similar technology to that found in A3 and TT Quattros, as opposed to the mechanical Torsen diff found in larger Quattro models.
Nissan Friend-ME – looks better than it sounds: Shanghia Motor Show
Mon, 22 Apr 2013Nissan has built the Friend-ME (which must rank as one of the most useless car monikers ever) to appeal to the potentially huge market of ‘B?línghòu’ buyers, a group of buyers, born in the 1980s, who grew up as single children thanks to China’s ‘One Child’ policy. Nissan sees this group as totally reliant on their network of friends for support, and has built a car that owners can enjoy with their friends on an equal basis. So every one of the four seats gets full instrumentation - SatNav, Fuel, Speed – and an ‘Oracle Stone’ runs down the centre of the cabin which can display whatever content the occupants want from their connected Smartphones and tablets.
