Mugen Honda Civic Type R - should rescue the new Type R from mediocrity But the latest version of the Type R is a bit of a let-down. It’s got old and soft. It’s bigger than its predecessor but has no more power so, instead of being an appealing car, it’s become a bit lost and overshadowed by the competition, such as the VW Scirocco R and the Ford Focus RS.

Jaguar continues to keep interest in the new F-Type piqued with video comparing the sound of the V6 and V8 F-Type. The latest Jaguar marketing magic comes courtesy of a short video with a pair of F-Types pulling away and accelerating hard; one a V6 supercharged and the other a V8 supercharged. We don’t know whether the V6 is the 340PS base F-Type or the 380PS F-Type S, but it makes a fine noise.

Coventry students embark on interior project for GM's Opel/Vauxhall division

Designers at GM's Opel/Vauxhall division have tasked students at Coventry University with creating the vehicle interior of the future. Championed by Richard Shaw, Chief Designer at Opel's Advanced Design Studio in Germany, students will be charged with creating innovative and visionary interior concepts for the next decade, taking into account future needs of consumers but also the brand's values. Judges from GM Europe Design and Coventry University will then select the winning entry.
