496 Bbc Dart, Isky, Holley, Edelbrock, Comp Cams, Mds, Cloyes, March, Carb-pan on 2040-parts.com

Up for sale is a 496 BBC, I purchased the short block from ebay seller "Clewwho40" a few years ago and finally assembled the long block. I've got about 20 miles on it driving around town, to be honest it's a bit too much for my taste. I will be installing my 383 SBC in my El Camino.

Short block details are 2 bolt block bored .060 over, decked and align honed, Probe forged pistons, plasma moly rings, "H" beam rods 7/16 rod bolts, Scat cast steel 4.250 stroker crank, internally balanced. You can check out Clewwho40's store for more details. I don't remember everything.

I installed a new Isky solid roller cam RR-645, pn 396645 .640 int lift, .650 exh lift, 304/318 adv dur, 264/272 dur at .050. New Isky solid roller lifters, 3/8 pushrods. Camshaft was degreed when installed.

New Dart Pro 1 310 heads, 2.30/1.90 SS valves 11/32 stems, roller cam springs, heads were setup by West Coast Cyl Heads in Reseda, Ca 91335. ARP rocker studs, Comp Cams roller rockers, Dart stud girdle. Chambers are 118cc's CR is 10:25-1 pump gas friendly!!

Edlebrock RPM Air Gap intake manifold, New Pro Systems 1000 CFM Holley HP DP, dog leg boosters, 50 cc pumps F&R, adjustable idle & high speed air bleeds. Carb works great, engine idles at 900 RPM and has 15" of vacuum.

Cloyes hex-a-just timing chain and gears, Cloyes 2 piece front cover, Weiand aluminum water pump, March pulleys, 100 amp chrome 1 wire alternator, Fluid Damp balancer, Milidon oil pan, HV oil pump, ARP oil pump drive.

Hooker headers 2" primary, 3.5" collectors, Accell ceramic plug wires, MDS Pro Billet dist. Timing is locked out at 36 BTDC. Summit Racing mini starter, HD flexplate.

Motor starts right up, sounds great, has tons of power, doesn't overheat. I've driven the car a few times around town and I now realize it's too much for my driving style. Everyone looks and checks out the car, it attracts too much attention.

The engine is still in the car and I encourage anyone who may be interested to stop by and check it out. I will list this for a period of time and if no interest it will just go back on the stand.

I would sell the complete engine carb to pan, dist & headers, plug wires included, Car is 1970 El Camino for header app. You get the March pulleys, Alt, belt, WP, flexplate, motor mounts, almost all the parts for the BBC, I need the PS pump and pulley. Since I will be installing my SBC, most of the BB stuff isn't needed.
