The Car Design News - Opel/Vauxhall Interactive Design Competition has entered its final two weeks, but it's still not too late to submit an entry and impress the judges with your vision of a Lounge in Motion. The project uploads so far - on the dedicated competition site - are full of fantastic mood boards and thematic directions and generally contain some great ideas. Judges, industry professionals, design students and members of the public have been commenting and directing those who have uploaded work to date.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid Nurburgring video below
In February we reported that Porsche has developed the unthinkable – a hybrid 911. But this wasn’t a hybrid 911 with a bank of batteries and a fluffy-bunny conscience, but a rampant track 911 with a great big electro-magnetic flywheel and a KERS-like thump of an extra 160bhp – the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid. The 911 GT3 R uses technology developed by Williams F1 and comprises of a pair of generators in the front wheels that shove energy to a composite flywheel (conveniently located next to the driver – not sure how well that would go down on a road0going version) which is the stored and can be thrown at the back wheels whenever the driver wants, in a way very similar to KERS.

This is part three of Rolls-Royce’s pre-Geneva motor show tease of its new Wraith coupe. We’ve already seen a ghostly interpretation of the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, and a side profile shot that revealed a resemblance to a ’68 Mustang Fastback, and now Rolls has shown the rear of the Wraith, and made a few proud proclamations about just how powerful its new super-coupe will be. I can’t see much of the new Rolls-Royce Wraith…
Unfortunately it’s another shadowy teaser from Rolls-Royce, in the same vein as the side profile silhouette.
