2009 Mazda 3 hatchback unveiled ahead of Bologna

Mazda has today released the first pictures of the new Mazda 3 hatchback, ahead of the Bologna Motor Show on December 3rd. The pictures come hot on the heels of the recently announced saloon and, just like the saloon, the Mazda 3 hatchback is a much fresher design, with far more sporty pretensions. One of the big aims for Mazda with the 3 was, of course, a much more economical car without sacrificing the old model’s strengths.

Mark Webber quits Red Bull F1 for Porsche (2013)

Porsche has confirmed it’s poached Formula One driver Mark Webber from Red Bull Racing to race for it at the 2014 Le Mans 24hrs. The 36 year-old Australian has signed a multiple-year contract to drive Porsche’s new LMP1 challenger, which is aiming to give Audi a bloody nose in the world’s most famous endurance event next year. Lexus LFA Roadster makes an appearence in Tokyo (video)

Lexus LFA Roadster The long-rumoured Lexus LFA Roadster has made a surprise appearance at the D1GP Kick Off Drift event in Tokyo. The plan for Toyota to chop the top of the LFA to create a Lexus LFA Roadster has been running round the rumour mill for a while, but Toyota has yet to confirm it. That said, we reported back in October that Toyota were planning a launch of the Lexus LFA Roadster in 2014, and unlike the LFA Roadster – which was limited to 500 cars worldwide – Lexus were going to build as many LFA Roadsters as the market could swallow.
