The Proxes T1R is Toyo’s Ultra High Performance Summer tire developed for sports car, sporty coupe and high performance sedan drivers looking for comfort, performance and value. Designed to deliver in dry, wet and warm weather conditions, the Proxes T1R features an aggressive tread design that contributes to its competence. Like all Ultra High Performance Summer tires, Proxes T1R tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Proxes T1R tires mold Toyo’s Generation S silica-reinforced high-grip compound into a directional tread design that blends wet weather traction and dry road handling with noise comfort and ride quality. Shoulder blocks backed by circumferential ribs resist irregular wear while promoting dry road stability. Central v-shaped water evacuation grooves help pump water from under the footprint towards the shoulders to resist hydroplaning and increase wet traction.

The tire’s internal structure features twin high-tensile steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped joint less cap and edge plies that control the footprint shape to promote high-speed durability and even wear.

Ferrari California Handling Speciale (2012) first pictures

Thu, 16 Feb 2012

This is Ferrari’s revised California, which will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March 2012. It’s got more power, weighs less, and can be optioned with a chassis-sharpening Handling Speciale package, all features scooped by CAR last year. The California caused quite a stir when it was launched, ushering in a whole host of firsts for Ferrari: it was the company’s first convertible with a folding metal roof; the first with a double-clutch gearbox, the first front-engined V8 Ferrari, and the first with direct-injection engine technology.

Studio Focus: SAIC European Design Centre

Tue, 18 Jun 2013

SAIC European Design Centre Brands MG and Roewe Established 2010 (in current guise) Location Longbridge, UK Staff 35 Studio leader Martin Uhlarik SAIC's presence in Europe is limited at best through its MG brand, but if its sales are almost exclusively concentrated in its home Chinese market currently, MG's design roots are firmly planted in its spiritual British soil. All current Morris Garages cars – the MG6, 3 and 5 (in chronological order) as well as the CS concept shown at the Shanghai motor show in April – are products of SAIC's European Design Centre in Longbridge, near Birmingham in the English midlands, albeit finalized in Shanghai. The studio was opened in 2010 after a £5million investment in SAIC's UK Technical Centre but such are the ambitions of the company that it has already received a further £1.5million investment to almost double its size.
