Peugeot 208 XY Concept – a 208 for the sybarite
Sun, 19 Feb 2012Peugeot 208 XY Concept - Geneva bound The Peugeot 208 XY Concept – heading for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show – is Peugeot’s luxury take on the new 208. We’ve already had the concept for the new Peugeot 208 GTi as the performance extreme of the new 208 range, and arriving onside the 208 GTi on Peugeot’s Geneva stand will be the luxury extreme of the 208 – the Peugeot 208 XY Concept. The 208 XY looks like the second attempt by Peugeot (along with the GTi) to emulate the success Citroen has had with the C3 with the DS iconic badge, where style and performance combine with a lifestyle statement.
Film Friday: A Wonderful New World of Fords has descended from the heavens!
Fri, 11 Apr 2014In a day when every automaker seems to be eager to latch on to the smallest details -- a few pounds of weight shaved here and there, some silly feature designed to keep you and your family protected in an accident, a flashier infotainment setup -- to sell their product, this 1960 Ford spot is a breath of fresh air. There's none of this oh-so-carefully hedged “our cars are pretty OK!” nonsense in this spot for the 1960 Thunderbird, Falcon and Galaxie. There's nary a world about fuel economy (OK, one mention -- the Falcon supposedly gets up to 30 mpg).
Schumacher being taken out of coma
Fri, 31 Jan 2014MICHAEL SCHUMACHER is being slowly brought out of his induced coma but a leading neurosurgeon has warned it remains too soon to determine his long-term prognosis. Seven-times Formula One world champion Schumacher, 45, has spent the last month in the University of Grenoble hospital fighting for his life after sustaining brain injuries following a skiing accident in the resort of Meribel. Concern was growing as to whether he would ever make a recovery, or even wake again, but manager Sabine Kehm has now provided official confirmation that steps are under way to bring him out of his coma following the accident on December 29.
