I sold my rare 1954 CHEVY BELAIR TIN WOODY a year ago, but recently found a few scarce parts I'd squirreled away. This original CHEVROLET nameplate for the lower tailgate is very hard to find. It is for the 52-54 Chevy wagon. Not the same one used on Chevy's 49-51 wagons. You can clearly see the part number on the back of it. Chrome or nickel plating is still nice, but not perfect and there are a few pits. All mounting posts are there on the back and there is no damage. They are not reproducing this part and probably never will!

Also included is a pair of 53-54 wagon sunvisor brackets. I was told these are repos from the 60s or 70s and are no longer available. Plating is perfect, but there is surface rust on the springs. Again these are impossible to find! I believe these only fit the wagons and convertibles.

Gordon Murray's electric city car gets green light

Thu, 05 Nov 2009

The UK Government tonight announced a major investment in Gordon Murray's radical new city car project. A £9 million grant will fund development of the T27, an electric city car successor to the original T25 being designed in the UK by the maverick engineer behind the McLaren F1 and numerous racing cars. The money will be spent designing and producing four prototypes over a 16-month period, with the eventual aim of putting an electric car with sustainable manufacturing processes into full production here in the UK.  The T27 will be the follow-up to the petrol-powered T25, a small city car designed by jointly by Gordon Murray Design and Zytek Automotive technology.

Bentley Celebrates Strong Finish At Mille Miglia

Fri, 23 May 2014

YOU can be forgiven for thinking Jaguar stole the Mille Miglia spotlight this year, what with its roster of celebrities driving a brace of desirable racers, but Bentley was the other British brand tearing across the Italian countryside. The Crewe-based luxury car maker fielded a handful of iconic pre-war models and, after the four-day, 1,700km marathon, the firm secured its best position to date with one of its iconic 4 ½ Litre supercharged Bentley Blowers. Rolf Frech, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Engineering and Jerome D’Ambrosio, finished in 73rd position out of the 438 cars that took part.

Ferrari 250 GTO hitting Bonhams in August – but how much will it sell for?

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

Will the Violati Ferrari 250 GTO (pictured) break the $60 million barrier? The last Ferrari 250 GTO Series 1 to hit auction rooms in 2012, fetched a remarkable $35 million, and last year another 250 GTO – chassis #5111 – was sold in a private deal thought to be worth $52 million. And now another Series 1 250 GTO is about to hit the sale room.
