POWER+PLUS CROSSWIND Aluminum Intake Manifold for Small Block Chevy V8

            Manufacturer:  Professional Products

Description:

The Power+Plus CrossWind aluminum intake manifold is similar to the 180 degree 52020/52021 but features an open area under the plenum and port runners. This allows air to pass through this area cooling the intake charge which produces more power and torque.

The new CrossWind Manifold is a special version of the 52020/52021. While it is the exact same height, it features an open area under the plenum chamber. This provides for a flow of cooling air, which keeps the temperature of the air/fuel charge lower thus producing more power and torque. The interior plenum and port design are identical to the 52020/52021 and will provide somewhat better overall power than the 52020/52021 due to the special design.

Note: These manifolds are not legal for sale or use on any pollution-controlled motor vehicles.

Features:
  • Dual plane 180 degree design  - Provides optimum power from 1500 to 6,500 rpm. Retains good bottom end power and throttle response.

  • Air Gap – provides for a flow of cooling air, which keeps the temperature of the air/fuel charge lower thus producing more power and torque

  • Dual Distributor Holddown Provision - Standard.

  • Includes two pipe tapped rear water ports

  • Fits all '55 through '95 engines

Parents 'risking kids' lives' on defective tyres

    Tue, 26 Aug 2014

MORE THAN 30% of parents are ferrying their most precious cargo around on illegal tyres, a new study has found. Road safety charity TyreSafe has reported that one of its members carried out a study at a Shropshire primary school, where almost a third of the cars dropping children off at school were wearing tyres that were either past their wear markers, were incorrectly inflated, had bulges or cuts, or had foreign objects sticking out of them. “The start of the new academic year means that we will be experiencing many more cars on the roads, particularly at peak times of the day,” comments Stuart Jackson, chairman, TyreSafe.

One Lap of the Web: A wiseguy in a Cadillac

-- Not many car reviews feature a shot-for-shot remake of "Goodfellas." (We're still banking on Ford's re-introduction of the Crown Victoria for a shot-for-shot remake of Beastie Boys' "Sabotage.") Matt Farah of the Smoking Tire did for its review of the Cadillac CTS V-Sport, which took four days to shoot and six to edit, and probably three more to steal the dolly cam from Scorsese's basement. -- You might not remember the Saturn Pioneer, but back in 1979, "the new marque Saturn was developed to play on the increased attention to astronomy NASA's deep space probes were generating," writes automotive historian/inveterate liar Jason Torchinsky. One of GM's many H-Body cars, the Pioneer -- named after the probe, not the Probe -- carried an innovative version of GM's venerable "Iron Duke": it had both a carburetor and throttle-body fuel injection, which undoubtedly added needless complexity that could have better served the real Rocket Division, Oldsmobile.
