Kia Pop concept (2010) first official pictures

Wed, 18 Aug 2010

These are the first pictures of Kia's new 2010 electric concept car, the Pop, which is due to make its debut at the Paris motor show on 30 September. Details on the new Kia Pop are sketchy, but at 3m long and with a triple-seat arrangement, it could be that Kia has its sights set on creating a rival to the Toyota iQ. In fact, we can see from the bird's-eye shot that the seating plan mimics that of Toyota's baby with two positions in a front bench and a single rear seat behind the front passenger.

Vauxhall launches new extended used car warranty

Mon, 05 Nov 2012

Vauxhall has launched a new extended warranty for use cars, available for cars up to 70,000 miles for one, two or three years. Two years ago, Vauxhall launched its Lifetime Warranty for new cars, spurred on by warranties from the likes of Kia and Hyundai, offering buyers long-term peace of mind – and which was actually a 100k mile warranty rather than a lifetime one, but a welcome assurance for motorists nonetheless. Now Vauxhall are extending their enhanced warranty offer to use car with the launch of an extended warranty aimed to give owners of used Vauxhall’s a similar level of cover to new car buyers.

Porsche chief Wendelin Wiedeking resigns

Thu, 23 Jul 2009

Porsche chairman Wendelin Wiedeking has bowed to mounting pressure in announcing that he will step down immediately. The resignation came Thursday, following a surprise meeting of the company's supervisory board at its Weissach R&D headquarters outside of Stuttgart, Germany, on Wednesday night. Wiedeking's announcement comes after months of tense and public infighting following Porsche's failed attempt to wrest control of Volkswagen, which left it with $12.7 billion in debt, and slowing sales in key markets such as North America.
