Spotlight Unique to 54-56 Oldsmobile:  This spotlight was sold only by Oldsmobile Dealers. It is a Factory Spotlight which would have been purchased at the Olds Dealers Parts Department back in the day. This spotlight is unique to the 54-56 Oldsmobile for the following reasons:
1) The shaft length and the brackets are unique to the 54-56 Olds.  Outside LH bracket part # 5942066 and inside bracket 5945457. The shaft length is 18 inches end to end.
2) The spotlight is 12V.  The bulb is good -- I tested it.
3) The plastic on the handle grip and switch are unique to Oldsmobile Factory Spotlights. The color is a grey / green and it matches the interior colors of the Olds.
4) This is a Guide S-18 Spotlight with no mirror. All of the Oldsmobiles came with an outside rear view mirror. This spotlight mounts on the cowl forward of the mirror. The spotlight is compatible for use with the standard rear view mirror.

Operation:  12V and the spotlight works and the switch works -- I tested it. The spotlight rotates as it should.

Condition: used  -- the pictures tell the story. Use for driver or for parts.

As if to prove the point, Honda has announced that Mugen-fettled versions of the hatch are to be released for the British market. Recently making a splash in the UK with their banzai track-focused version of the Civic Type R, Mugen started in 1973 and specialise in building and tuning Hondas.

Driven: BMW X6

Mon, 07 Jul 2008

Why do people like some cars and dislike others? There are all sorts of reasons for sure, but there aren't so many cars that one both likes and also dislikes. The BMW X6 takes this a stage further in being a design that is likable and unlikable for the same reason.
