Description:

The Power+Plus HPS (High Performance Street) manifold is a great manifold for Ford powered street machines or street rods. This is an outstanding design manifold with longer port runners than most similar street manifolds. Fits square bore carburetors.

The Power+Plus Typhoon Manifold for all 260/289/302W/5.0L small block Ford engines is a dual plane 180° medium high rise design that delivers out- standing street or race performance across nearly the entire power band while retaining good throttle response at any speed.

Note: This manifold will not fit 255, Boss 302, or 351W engines. It will fit on '83 and later 5.0L H.O. Mustangs and will work with cruise control. Note that aftermarket carburetors are not compatible with Ford Automatic Overdrive Trans (AOD). No provision for exhaust heated choke.

The Power+Plus Manifold for small block Ford has several features not found in other brands. It has a rear water crossover with two extra NPT ports. It also features nitrous bosses. Recommended carburetor is any square bore 600 cfm or 750 cfm model depending upon engine size and degree of modification. Use a Fel-Pro #1250 intake gasket for best results. Torque manifold bolts to 15-18 lbs./ft. only.

Note: This manifold is a stock replacement/street legal part for 289 1965-66 Cobra V8s with OEM 4V carb. Certain exempt aftermarket carbs may also be street legal.

Features:

Dual plane 180 degree design - Provides optimum power from 1500 to 6,500 rpm. Retains good bottom end power and throttle response.

Fully show polished - All Power+Plus Manifolds are available with a full show hand polished finish. This level of polishing typically costs $175 to $200 in a custom polishing shop. Also available in satin finish.

Accepts Stock Carburetor – For non-emissions street applications, use a 600 cfm vacuum secondary carb and for street high performance or racing use a 750 cfm performance or double pumper carb such as our AED Performance carburetors.

Rear Water Crossover Passage – Provides for balanced water flow across back of engine promoting cooler operating temps. Two extra pipe tapped ports are also provided.

The Michelin Challenge Design Jury met in July at Art Center College of Design and selected the designs that will be displayed next January at the 2009 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at the Cobo Center in Detroit. The entrants were challenged to create vehicles in support of the central theme ‘BRAVE+BOLD'; America's Next Iconic Vehicle. The designs were evaluated for uniqueness, emotional appeal, design courage and technical execution.

Audi readying new crossover to rival the BMW X6

Audi has kicked off development of a new performance-orientated crossover model to directly counter the BMW X6. Set to be called the Q6 when it reaches North American showrooms, the five-seat crossover is rumored to be based around the same all-wheel-drive underpinnings as the second-generation Volkswagen Touareg and the Porsche Cayenne, both of which use a short-wheelbase version of the Volkswagen Group's so-called Colorado platform that in long-wheelbase guise is also used in the Audi Q7. Nothing has been made official, but in an interview with the German media at the Geneva motor show, Audi boss Rupert Stadler alluded to the crossover, saying, “We can imagine a model between the Q5 and the Q7 .
