54mm = 2 1/8” TBI TO SPREADBORE CARB INTAKE MANIFOLD ADAPTER Vortec INJECT-IT-004

This ½ inch thick solid aluminum adapter will allow you to install a factory 2” or modified (bored to 54mm = 2 1/8) Throttle Body Injection (TBI) unit on any aftermarket intake manifold with a spreadbore (Quadrajet, Thermoquad, Holley, etc)s carburetor mounting surface (see picture). With this INJECT-IT adapter, when doing a GM TBI conversion project on your old chevy truck, street rod, rock crawler, or small block Jeep, mounting your TBI unit becomes simple and attractive.

Factory 1 11/16” TBI units generally will not keep up with high horsepower engine builds, and the use of a modified (bored out to 2 1/8” = 54mm)  GM TBI unit is a good choice for these big cubic inch or very high horsepower small block projects.  If you are doing a high performance build, a big block 454 conversion, or a vortec head conversion on your (1987 -1995) Chevy or GMC truck with TBI and don’t want to pay for an expensive TBI intake manifold, just use a spreadbore vortec intake manifold such as an edelbrock performer (#2116), performer RPM (#7104), big block performer RPM (#7164) for example, and this INJECT-IT adapter to mount your TBI unit in a near factory location (front to back) keeping your throttle linkage, cruise control, and fuel lines easy to install. DO NOT PURCHASE A SQUARE-BORE intake manifold as your TBI throttle bores will be wider than the intake mounting surface, and airflow will be restricted.

This particular INJECT-IT adapter will only fit TBI units bored up to 54mm (2 1/8”) formerly found on the 454 GM engines.

The following parts will be needed for installation:

·          4 -  5/16 X 1” bolts

·         1 – TBI Gasket (TDP #2077) gasket bore modification may be necessary.

·          1 - Spreadbore carburetor base gasket (MrGasket #57B) or equivalent

You will be receiving the INJECT-IT adapter ONLY.

From the pearl white paint to the light blue hue that illuminates certain aspects, there is an underlying emphasis on the fact that this car is a hybrid.

Mon, 05 Sep 2011

Skoda MissionL Concept - destined to be the Skoda Lauretta Skoda is on a mission to push its sales through the roof in the next year or seven – aiming for 1.5 million sales, no less, by 2018 –  and part of that strategy is to fill the gap in its range between the Fabia and Octavia. So it’s a good thing the Skoda MissionL Concept fits the bill. Not that we have a great deal to go on with the MissionL Concept, as all Skoda have done so far is send us a short press release and the teaser photo above (which was a lot darker until we sent it through Photoshop).

General Motors partners with battery supplier LG on electric vehicles

Thu, 25 Aug 2011

General Motors said Thursday that it is partnering with its battery cell supplier, LG Group, to develop electric vehicles. The agreement, signed Wednesday by GM CEO Dan Akerson and LG President Juno Cho, will “help GM expand the number and types of electric vehicles it makes and sells,” the automaker said in a statement. It's the second example this week of automakers looking for partners to help in developing more fuel-efficient cars, as U.S.
