Air Injection Reaction (A.I.R.) is a pollution control system used by GM to inject fresh air into the exhaust manifold in order to burn post combustion cycle emissions of hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon dioxide (CO). Failure of the A.I.R. system can cause poor performance and fuel economy, and result in state emission test failure.
