rust pitting, one bolt broke off in it, needs new rubber bushings & brake switch
Brand:Chevrolet Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Placement on Vehicle:Left, Front

This is a used clutch/brake assembly taken out of a 1957 Chevy 4 door Bel-Air Sedan.  This will fit all the '57 Chevy passenger cars.  This will not fit the '55 and '56 Chevy because they have a slightly different bracket because the bottom of the dash is different.  This one has a lot of rust on it, but I don't see any rust through - see picture #7 for a close up of some of the worst rust on it.  There is also one broken bolt in it - see picture #6.  It could still be used, but it would need to be taken apart, sandblasted, painted, and re-assembled.  The rubber parts are dry rotted and would have to be replaced.  I haven't tested the brake light switch, but I think its safe to assume it would need to be replaced as well.  The clutch spring still returns the pedal and the attachment piece for the linkage is still attached - see picture #5.  The threads that hold the master cylinder on do have some rust on them, but I ran a bolt down on all four of them and it did go all the way to the bottom and tighten down.  Please contact me if you have any questions and thanks for looking.
