Toyota to unveil 2013 Avalon in New York

Toyota is set to debut an all-new US-designed sedan at the 2012 New York International Auto Show next month The teaser sketch, which only shows the new car's rear, suggests a departure from the rather bland, conservative design of the current model. The outgoing Avalon very much a traditional three-box design, whereas the teaser image suggests the new model may feature a fastback roofline in the mold of the Audi A7 and Mercedes-Benz CLS. Starting June 1, 2007 Lorenzo Ramaciotti will become the new Group Chief of Design at Fiat Group Automobiles. Ramaciotti was snatched up by Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne and convinced to head the company's design direction, filling a newly created position that hasn't previously existed at Fiat. Lorenzo Ramaciotti, who retired from Pininfarina in June 2005 after working for the famed coachbuilder for 32 years, will be responsible for all the Fiat Group brands, including Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Maserati.

Ferrari has been there since the beginning of F1, which makes Silverstone 2011 the 60th anniversary of Formula One, and to celebrate Ferrari is to release a limited edition model – the Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1. Based on the HGTE package available for the regular Ferrari 599 – which means stiffer springs and dampers, a bigger stabilizer bar at the back, bigger rubber and lowered suspension – the 599 GTB 60F1 is part of Ferrari’s Tailor Made programme (which does what it says on the tin).
