Porsche 918 Spyder to get 875bhp to take on McLaren P1 & LaFerrari
Tue, 02 Apr 2013The Porche 918 Spyder – Porsche’s hybrid supercar – is to get a power boost and go on a diet to better compete with the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari. But the duo of hybrid supercars at Geneva will become a trio at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September when the Porsche 918 Spyder gets revealed in final production form before heading for a select group of customers in 2014. It does seem to have taken Porsche quite a while to get the 918 Spyder in production-ready guise but it seems they may have been waiting to see what McLaren and Ferrari had up their collective sleeves before settling on a production specification for the 918 Spyder.
Nissan Mixim concept (2007): first official pictures
Wed, 29 Aug 2007By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 29 August 2007 02:30 Nissan Mixim: the lowdown This outlandish electric sports car will form the centrepiece of Nissan's Frankfurt Motor Show stand. As you can tell from its squashed insect looks, the Mixim is no production car in prick-tease show-off mode. This is a far-flung fantasy on the long-distance radar of Nissan's product planners.
McLaren SLR Stirling Moss – the Video
Sat, 08 Aug 2009Mercedes McLaren SLR Stirling Moss Featuring the same underpinnings as the McLaren SLR 722, it develops 650bhp and manages 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph. Which should be enough to dislodge the toupee of those who can afford to buy it. McLaren are only producing 75 SLR Stirling Moss, so perhaps it’s no real surprise that we’ve seen so little about the SLR since it launched.
