2009 Ford KA – Verdict
Tue, 09 Jun 2009Cars UK [rating:4.0] Ford KA - The Verdict The original Ford KA was a hard act to follow – despite its age and the fact it was based on an even more ancient Fiesta underpinnings – and conspired to look fresh and contemporary right to the end. But the new Ford KA manages to cohesively bring together all the charm and style of the original in a modern and well thought out package. If we were running round a City on an everyday basis we would have to look hard to find anything better as an everyday drive.
2014 Volkswagen Polo now on sale – price from £11,100 to £19,715
Tue, 25 Mar 2014The facelifted 2014 VW Polo (pictured) is now on sale The 2014 facelift for the VW Polo was revealed back in January and, although the cosmetic tweaks were the usual facelift fodder – tweaked bumpers and grill, new lights, new alloys and interior updates – the big changes came under the bonnet. New 3-cylinder engines arrive for the Polo with two new 1.0 litre petrols with 60PS or 75 PS, two 1.2 litre petrols with 90 or 110PS and and extra 10-PS for the 1.4 litre, which also gets cylinder deactivation. The diesel BlueMotion also gets dropped in favour of a petrol BlueMotion offering 68.9mpg from its 1.0 litre 3-pot and there’s a pair of 1.4 litre diesels with 75 or 90PS replacing the old 1.2 and 1.6 litre diesels.
AW Design Forum: Style remains key as transportation systems evolve
Thu, 14 Jan 2010The entire way Americans view transportation is going to change, predicts industry expert David Muyres, and designers will be key in making new methods of mobility desirable. Speaking at the AW Design Forum on Thursday morning in Detroit, Muyres said transportation needs to be looked at as a complete system, where cars, cities and technologies--such as the electrical grid--all interact. But for this to work, the cars need to remain exciting, said Muyres.
