England to ban car park cameras?
Thu, 10 Oct 2013Static cameras and ‘spy cars’ fitted with video surveillance equipment could be banned in England following communities secretary Eric Pickle’s statement that he wanted to “rein in over-zealous and unfair rules.” The government isn’t looking to eradicate parking enforcement altogether, however. The coalition stated that traffic wardens armed with cameras would be able to carry out the task instead, potentially at a reduced cost to the state over the current setup. And it turns out we were right – just 36 Citroen C1s sold in the UK have a potential problem. Which is very good news for Citroen.
BMW expands Mini lineup with two-seat coupe, roadster models
Wed, 26 Aug 2009Mini is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its original model by confirming plans for a new compact performance-oriented coupe. The two-seater, revealed 50 years to the day after the premiere of the first Mini back in 1959, will make its public debut at the upcoming Frankfurt auto show. At the show, the BMW-owned carmaker also will unveil a similarly styled two-seat roadster, which sources say will head into production as part of a strategy aimed at further raising the appeal of the wildly popular and iconic small car.
