The SEAT Leon FR 2.0 TDI 184 PS (pictured) arrives in the UK from £22,075 The 2013 SEAT Leon arrived at the Paris Motor Show last year as the Spanish take in the VW Golf. And now the SEAT take on the Golf GTD is in the UK – the SEAT Leon FR 2.0 TDI 184 PS. Top Gear East Coast USA Road Trip tonight

Tue, 21 Dec 2010

Jeremy de-stresses in the SLS in NYC It’s a bit of a Top Gear day today with not just this morning’s news that Top Gear drafted in Tiff Needell to play at being the Stig, but the first in the new series of Top Gear kicks off tonight on BBC2 at 8.00 pm (9.00pm in Europe). And actually, this morning’s Tiff Needell story ties in with tonight’s Top Gear as it’s got Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle as the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. But that’s not the main piece tonight; that honour goes to the boy’s trip up the East Coast USA.

The new BMW i3 EV (pictured) will be subsidised until 2017. The subsidy of up to £5000 paid to buyers of electric cars has been with us for three years, but it hasn’t had much impact on EV sales and it did look like the government had decided to scrap it all together. But it looks like the coalition has allowed Nick Clegg to have his way with EV subsides in a move that will see £500 million injected in to promoting and supporting electric cars in the UK in the next few years.
