Bentley W12 (and Audi and VW) engine production centres on Crewe

The VW Group W12 engine will now only be made by Bentley in Crewe It’s probably not something you’ve paused to think about much, but if you did you’d assume that the Bentley W12 engine – fitted to the Flying Spur and Continental GT as well as the Audi A8 and VW Phaeton – was made only in Crewe. But you’d be wrong. In fact, the W12 for Bentleys are made in Crewe but those used in the Audi A8 and VW Phaeton are actually built by VW at their engine plant in Salzgitter.

Since Maybach got the axe last month, there has been a hole 6.2 meters long in the hearts of rappers and ball players everywhere. Florida rapper Rick Ross, whose label name is Maybach Music, may even have to find another marque to follow. Mercedes celebrates 60th anniversary of Unimog with new concept

The Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks unit (MBS) revealed a design study celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Unimog at the Daimler plant in Wörth recently. The concept, called simply ‘60 Years Unimog', is said to inform the future form language of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle design. Combining of the past and future of the Unimog, the MBS development team, the Daimler commercial vehicle designers in Sindelfingen and a model designing partner have created an avant-garde vehicle that retains the inherent functionality and capabilities of the now iconic vehicle.
