  Up for sale is a 1968 cast iron Quadra-Jet big block Chevy intake manifold. The intake is GM part# 3883948 and is dated I-19-7.  The intake has been cleaned and inspected and all looks great. All threads are very nice other than one heli-coil in the t-stat. This was used  on the following 1968 big block applications: 68 passenger car w/427-390hp & 396-350hp-325hp, Chevelle & El Camino 396-350HP, This is a must for that matching numbers restoration!! GM 'will lose money' on the new Chevrolet Volt

By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 18 September 2008 14:39 Despite hanging its future on the make-or-break Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid car, GM has confirmed that it doesn’t expect to make a profit from it – at least not on the first-generation model. The Chevy Volt was unveiled this week amid much hoopla at GM's centenary. 'I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a situation where we make money, particularly when you load all the costs in,' Fritz Henderson, GM’s chief operating officer, told Automotive News Europe, referring to the company’s first-generation technologies.

Land Rover confirms end of Defender production

It's been all but a foregone conclusion for some time now, but Land Rover has confirmed to our sister publication Automotive News Europe that the aging Defender won't live to see 2020. Originally conceived as an agricultural machine, the first Land Rover prototype used scavenged Willys Jeep bits left over from World War II. American kids of a certain age may have been captivated by the Land Rover's mystique while watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom back in the '70s.
