UP FOR AUCTION IS A RARE EARLY 1968 CORVETTE 327/300 HP TURBO 400 STARTER GM #1108338 DATED 7 H 30 (AUG. 30, 1967). THIS STARTER WAS USED ON OTHER GM CARS LIKE CAMARO'S & CHEVELLE'S FROM 1969 TO 1970 BUT THIS EARLY DATE WAS USED EXCLUSIVELY ON THE 1968 CORVETTES SMALL BLOCK AUTOMATICS.

The base Cayman cabriolet – sorry, Boxster – now gets a smidgen more power and torque from its 2.7-litre unit, with outputs climbing to 245bhp and 201lb ft. The tweaks shave a tenth off the 0-62mph sprint, reducing it to 6.1sec, and improve fuel economy by 1mpg to 30.4.

Drivers feeling the squeeze on parking

As many as four in five drivers have reported increasing parking charges in towns and cities. And 67% of those drivers believed there was now less parking close to their town or city centre and that parking restrictions had become more stringent where they live.
