Chrysler 300 sneak peak: GM reveals future of car line

Late Tuesday, General Motors and Chrysler submitted their recovery plans to the government. The bottom line: GM and Chrysler say the need another $18 billion total in government loans to make it until auto sales turn around. As part of the plans, the automakers gave a preview of some future products that they hope will help drive the turnaround.

The Porsche 911 is 50 years old this year – just in case you missed the memo – and the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show represents the final culmination of the celebrations. The 911 was originally launched at this very event, way back in 1963. At the 2013 Frankfurt IAA, Porsche is paying homage to its home-grown hero with a new 911 50 Years Edition, based on the latest 991-series Carrera S.

Aptera's 2e shells get junked by employees, video shows

Update: Aptera denies that these videos are in response to the closing of the brand, as previously reported, and states that they were filmed in May destroying prototypes that were bound for the crusher anyway. Automotive startup Aptera Motors closed its doors on Dec. 2 after it ran out of money.
