Lincoln MKC – it’s an upmarket Ford Kuga: 2013 Detroit Auto Show
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Ford has revealed the Lincoln MKC Concept at the Detroit Auto Show, a titivated upmarket offering based on the Ford Kuga. Despite strong sales on the other side of the Pond, Ford is struggling in Europe – just like every other mainstream car brand – and they’re probably ruing the day they decided to unravel their Premier Auto Group, selling off Aston Martin, Volvo and – their biggest mistake – Jaguar Land Rover. Which means that if Ford want to get back in to the – potentially very profitable – realm of premium cars again they’re stuck with doing it with one of their ‘brands’.
Record breaking Bluebird reunited with nose
Fri, 13 Dec 2013WORLD LAND SPEED RECORD holder Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird CN7 car has been reunited with its original nose. The car’s original nose was damaged and then kept in Coventry since 1960, but it has now been brought back to the car that lives at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Hampshire. Damaged during a World Land Speed Record attempt on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA, the nose of the car was sent back to Coventry for repairs and an updated design to help make the car more stable at very high speeds.
Geely to enter to US market with help from Volvo
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Geely Automobile Holdings told reporters in Hong Kong on Aug. 23 that it plans to start exporting cars to the United States with help from Volvo. Geely is hoping the Swedish company’s reputation will help it succeed in new markets after the firm stumbled on its first trip to the States at the Detroit auto show in 2006.
