Spyker B6 Venator to get 345bhp Lotus V6
Tue, 15 Oct 2013Spyker B6 Venator (pictured) to get 345bhp Lotus V6 The Spyker B6 Venator arrived officially – at least as a concept – at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, and it’s a fine looking car with lots of promise. It did seem it might just be another flight of fancy by Spyker’s Victor Muller, but it does look like the B6 Venator really is heading for production. Not only that, but Victor has a B6 Venator Spyder in the mix too to add an extra bit of appeal to what looks like it will be an appealing, if still quite expensive, offering from Spyker.
Hyundai Genesis gets Detroit 2014 debut
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Cars we don’t get in the UK 101 would have to include the Hyundai Genesis American-market saloon in its syllabus. It’s an upmarket barge of a car that we actually wouldn’t mind gracing our roads over here in Blighty – and, interestingly, the new car is destined for these shores. Think of it as a cut-price Jaguar XF or BMW 5 Series over in the States, offering loads of comfort, a decent turn of performance and plenty of neat safety features.
Spied: Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG? UPDATED
Thu, 20 Jun 2013LATEST UPDATE Mercedes-Benz’s AMG performance car off-shoot has kicked off public road tests of its eagerly awaited new sportscar, which is planned to go on sale in North America in early 2015. Smaller and more affordable than the existing SLS AMG, which the new two door liftback will indirectly replace in the German car maker’s line-up, the new car is planned to compete directly with the Porsche 911, both on price and performance. The coupe model, caught here exiting AMG’s engineering headquarters on the outskirts of Stuttgart in Germany yesterday in the first round of durability testing, will proceed a convertible version of the front-engined, rear-wheel drive sportscar due out in 2016, with an expected price tag of around $100,000 in the US.
