Volkswagen has used a car show in the Middle East nation of Qatar to unveil a two-seat plug-in hybrid concept car that the automaker says will deliver 261 mpg. The VW XL1 uses a lithium-ion battery pack, an electric motor and a two-cylinder, 0.8-liter diesel engine for the powertrain. Prices set for the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

The 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, the smallest vehicle in Land Rover's history, will carry a sticker price of $43,995 for the five-door model and $44,995 for the three-door model when they go on sale in the United States this fall. The prices include shipping charges. The Range Rover Evoque is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 240 hp.
