Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI quattro – stunning CGI
Mon, 08 Mar 2010Audi has created a stunning CGI video of the R8 V10 (below) As we’ve said a thousand times before, there is no substitute for actually driving a car. However hard we try at Cars UK to tell you what a car is like, and endless photos to show you every angle and nuance in the design, it’s still a narrow experience. Video gets much closer and you get a good feel for a car by watching a video.
Mercedes Vision S500 Plug In Hybrid (2009)
Fri, 11 Sep 2009By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 11 September 2009 09:55 This is Mercedes’ latest Vision concept car, the S500 Plug-in Hybrid, and it will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show next week alongside an electric version of the company's new SLS supercar. Based on the current-gen but pre-facelift S-class the S500 Plug-in Hybrid achieves over 88mpg but only emits 74g/km, and the company claims the car demonstrates 'the future of Mercedes' modular set of hybrid systems.' All next-gen S-classes are expected to get stop/start technology as standard, while full hybrid and plug-in hybrids will also be offered. Merc is claiming that its S500 Plug-in Hybrid is the world’s first 'three-litre' limo, offering 88.3mpg (or 3.2l/100km), figures that shame the Lexus LS600h (30.4mpg), BMW’s 7 ActiveHybrid (29.1) and even the company’s own S400 Hybrid (35.8).
CAR interviews Hermann Tilke, the F1 architect (2014)
Wed, 27 Aug 2014By Tom Clarkson Motor Industry 27 August 2014 09:50 Is this man a genius? You have to hope so because he’s designed half the tracks on this year’s Formula One calendar; and cars, irrespective of their performance, are only as spectacular as the tracks around which they’re racing. Monaco is utterly captivating, Bahrain less so – you get the idea.
