College Exhibition: IED Degree Show 2009
Tue, 08 Sep 2009Graduating students from the three-year post-graduate Transportation Design course at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Turin, Italy presented a tribute to the Aston Martin brand for their graduate theses. Called "Aston Martin 2025", 17 students in the post-graduate course - led by Fulvio Fantolino, IED's Transportation Design Course Coordinator - employed exclusivity, elegance, sporting style and the idea of sharing and emotion as their design keywords, developing a theme which ultimately saw 13 projects created in Alias or in clay. Aston Martin Design Director Marek Reichman provided the students with useful indications for the final development and a further selection led to the short listing of eight projects that were then produced in 1:4 scale models thanks to collaboration with Cecomp.
Chery TX Concept
Fri, 18 May 2012The Chery TX concept was unveiled at last month's Beijing auto show and showed significant progress in comparison to past Chery-designed vehicles. The brief for the concept was to be a ‘target-customer oriented SUV'. The TX marks a new beginning for Chery as it explores its new distinctive design philosophy, ‘Shangshan Ruoshui‘ (water) that derives from the Chinese traditional philosophy, interpreted as the pursuit of harmony and unity between humans and nature.
Mercedes-Benz F125 concept
Tue, 13 Sep 2011Mercedes today revealed the F125 concept at the Frankfurt motor show. Claimed to represent ‘a radical reinterpretation of a sports sedan', the new car is also said to preview the next generation S-Class. Created in close collaboration between the technical research and development departments, as well as the Advanced Design Studios in Sindelfingen and Carlsbad, CA, Mercedes says the exterior design of the F125 is a further development of the company's current design strategy, with organic use of body surfaces, a cab-forward stance and short overhangs.
