GMC gives Acadia the Denali treatment
Thu, 17 Dec 2009GMC is giving the Acadia crossover the Denali treatment, creating a new top trim level for the model lineup. The Acadia Denali goes on sale in fall 2010. Changes to the Acadia to create the Denali version include a chrome mesh grille, 20-inch wheels and tires, and redesigned front and rear bumper fascia.
Toyota ends powertrain deal with Tesla
Wed, 14 May 2014To the surprise of no one, Toyota has announced the end of a partnership with Tesla that gave rise to the slow-selling RAV4 EV, which will be replaced by a fuel cell car next year. Toyota has said that it can't meet California's zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate profitably with electric cars, but it thinks it can make money, or at least not lose so much of it, with fuel cells. Toyota signed a $100 million joint development deal in 2011 with Tesla, to build powertrains for its RAV4 EV.
Tesla offers finance deal on Model S
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Tesla Motors has joined forces with USBank and Wells Fargo Bank to create vehicle financing and leasing products that allow consumers to lease a Model S electric sedan for a net payment of about $500 a month after a 10 percent down payment and calculated savings. The 10 percent down payment often will be covered by federal and state tax credits available on electric vehicles. However, the $500 a month payment is an "effective" monthly payment.
