Up for auction is a pair of mint rear seat panels from a 78 Firebird. These have been off the car and stored away for nearly 30 years. No cracks, scratches or fading. They are a nice jet black color still, never dyed. You cant go wrong with original GM parts for look and finish! Shipping will be fixed at $58.00 anywhere in the continental US. Drivers 'not prepared for winter'

MANY DRIVERS are poorly prepared for the perils of winter motoring, according to the Highways Agency. As many as 45% of motorists do not make vehicle checks before the onset of bad weather and 28% do not take emergency kits. The agency's research also revealed that 53% of drivers do not even carry a de-icer.

The redesigned 2012 Volkswagen Beetle will launch with a base price of $19,765, including shipping charges, a minimal increase over the base price of the current version. The base VW Beetle, known as the 2.5L, is powered by a 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine rated at 170 hp. A five-speed manual transmission is standard and a six-speed automatic is an option.

Low-level lights for cyclists get approval

NEW TRAFFIC LIGHTS designed specifically for cyclists have been approved by the Government, following a successful trial. The low-level lights repeat the signals displayed by the normal traffic lights, and the results of the trial were that 80% of cyclists favoured their use. Following the approval Transport for London can now install the lights at Bow Roundabout – the first time the lights have been used in the UK.
