60mph M1 motorway speed limit proposed

The government has announced a proposal to lower the motorway speed limit from 70mph to 60mph over a 32-mile stretch of the M1. The plan, which has just been put out to consultation, would lower the speed limit to 60mph between junction 28, near Matlock in Derbyshire, to junction 35a, north of Rotherham – in a bid to improve air quality by reducing vehicle emissions. NISSAN’S premium car division, Infiniti, is pressing ahead with the development of a high performance version of its Q50 executive saloon. What’s significant about the news is that Formula 1 racer, and Infiniti’s Director of Performance, Sebastian Vettel has added his input to the programme. The four-time Formula 1 world champion recently tested the 560hp high performance sports saloon at the Millbrook Proving Ground testing facility.

Fisker releases Nina drawing ahead of New York auto show

Fisker Automotive has had its share of setbacks lately, but the company is continuing with plans to reveal a new model, called the Nina, at the 2012 New York auto show. On Thursday, the firm released a doodle that might be a teaser for the Nina. From what we can see, it might also be a drawing of a spaceship, a seabird's head or a high-tech pair of scissors from Fiskars.
