The V8 coupe will be unveiled in late 2008, with sales confirmed for early 2009. 'The new Camaro will be almost identical to the concept, a thoroughly modern interpretation of the 1969 model,' said GM design boss Ed Welburn.

A new generation Jaguar XJR is being launched at the New York Auto Show later this month, signalling the return of the range-topping XJ with 542bhp. Ford slows rate of cash burn in posting $1.4 billion net loss

Ford Motor Co., the only U.S. automaker operating without federal bailout loans, burned through $3.7 billion in cash during the first quarter in posting its fourth straight quarterly loss. Ford slowed the burn rate from the fourth quarter of 2008, when cash declined by $5.5 billion.
