UK car production down 20%
Thu, 20 Mar 2014CAR PRODUCTION slowed a little last month, according to official figures. A total of 133,730 cars were made in the UK in February - 2.7% fewer than in February 2013, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said. Cars made for the export market rose 3.5% last month, but manufacturing for the home market was down 20.8%.
New cameras spot traffic offences

The first unattended CCTV enforcement system for moving traffic offences has been introduced by Redbridge council in east London. The council said the scheme was working well, with "serious traffic contraventions" captured.

China’s state news agency, Xinhua, reports that the German manufacturer has been found guilty of using its power to control the prices of parts. The Chinese government is cracking down on monopolies and has been accused of being too harsh on companies from abroad.
