Goodwood Revival 2011
Tue, 27 Sep 2011The middle week of September was a crowded one for the CDN team with coverage of the Frankfurt motor show but we still found time to get our period tweeds out and head down to Sussex to cover the Revival weekend. This historic motor racing festival runs over three days, with Friday set aside for qualifying and practice, and races on Saturday and Sunday, with aggregated times to decide the final winner. The Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe is a contemporary four seater created in cooperation between BMW's in-house design team headed by Karim Habib and famed Italian design house Pininfarina. The car is based on a modified rear-drive BMW 7-series platform and uses the 760i's 6.0-liter, 536-hp turbo V12 for power.

Despite news of flat-lining car sales across Europe, the show was one of the defiant rolling out of new models. The number of production cars and production previews of cars that would be appearing in (presumably quiet) showrooms soon was impressive.
