OFFICIAL: Spyker B6 Venator Spyder debut at Salon Prive – but you knew that
Sat, 24 Aug 2013The Spyker B6 Venator Spyder (pictured) will get a UK debut at Salon Prive It’s amazing how much noise Victor Muller can make for his Spyker projects, even though we’ve seen nothing of real substance from Spyker since the Aileron. But we have seen the B6 Venator – even if it is entirely someone else’s car under the skin – and as we revealed back in July, the open-topped version of the Venator – the Spyker B6 Venator Spyder – got its first reveal at Pebble Beach earlier this month. The Venator Spyder is now heading for a proper public debt at Geneva, but as we exclusively reported back in June (well, we reported the whisper on the grapevine) Victor Muller is heading for a lobster and Champagne weekend at Salon Prive first to show the Venator Spyder.
McLaren launches P1 'Designing by Air' online experience
Fri, 03 May 2013McLaren has developed a new online experience, 'Designed by Air' to tell the story of the car's design and development. Designed by Air is the first of a two-part series and gives users the chance to hear in detail how the car was created, as the car appears from raw metallic and carbon elements and is crafted by airflow. The P1 is eventually formed inside a wind tunnel, designed to emphasize the car's aerodynamic qualities.
E85 makes inroads on cost and availability
Wed, 23 Dec 2009Three years ago, we embarked on a Midwest road trip in search of what was then the Holy Grail of fuel: E85. Our findings weren't too positive--there were far more E85-compatible vehicles on the road in 2006 (5 million) than there were E85 pumps to fuel them (about 700 out of some 200,000 fuel stations nationwide). In addition, those burning the mix of 15 percent gasoline and 85 percent ethanol were paying a pretty penny for their earth-friendly ways, losing about 15 percent in fuel economy while often paying the same price as regular unleaded.
