77 MAICO 400AW BING CARBURETOR, USED.

Removed from a Maico motocross bike with frame serial #3300907 and motor serial #R3232188.

Bing carb and intake manifold are in great shape. The carb is complete minus the bowl gasket. No broken or chipped castings. No water damage/corrosion. All threaded holes have good threads. No stuck or jammed jets. The slide doesn't have any edge or lip worn into the lower intake side like many do. Slide has a good fit in the bore. The number stamped into the carb body is 54/36/109. The main jet is #165, slow jet #55, needle jet #3.18 and slide # 1401. Carb looks very clean and all air and fuel passages are clear. I don't know if this is the exact correct Bing for this year of Maico as I was told this carb number is correct carb number for the 74 400MC. Plan on installing a kit in it to freshen it up. Carb manifold has no damage.

Ferrari looks at layoffs, cuts back production

Wed, 12 May 2010

We guess it's not all GTOs and 458 Italias. The word out of Italy is that Ferrari is looking at cutting production and eliminating 9 percent of its workers after sister company Maserati cut engine orders. Ferrari made only about 4,500 engines for Maserati last year, compared with nearly 9,000 in 2008.
