77 MAICO 400AW MAHLE PISTON, 77.40, USED. Removed from a Maico motocross bike with frame serial #3300907 and motor serial #R3232188. Piston is stamped 77.40 on the dome. There is a seize spot on the exhaust side skirt but it does not extend into the ring grooves so it can be cleaned up a re-used. The ring grooves are good and the ring locating pins are there. The wrist pin bore is good. No cracks or chipped areas. These Mahle pistons will last forever. Much better than any other brand. Those are figures on a par with today’s Polo Bluemotion, but this concept will become production reality in mid-2009. A 1.6-litre common-rail diesel engine powers the new Golf Bluemotion, producing 104bhp and 184lb ft, but those remarkable figures are helped by revised ratios on the five-speed ‘box, optimised aerodynamics and low rolling resistance tyres. There’s also a particulate filter to keep the exhaust gases clean.

Arabian horse inspires bespoke Rolls Royce Phantom Mirage [w/gallery]
Thu, 29 Mar 2012Rolls-Royce has created a bespoke Phantom Coupé named Mirage, inspired by the powerful Arabian stallion of the same name that became famous during the 1920s and ‘30s. The one-off car, designed for the United Arab Emirates market, features a matte black exterior with horse's head incorporated into its coachline detail, a motif that continues into the Mugello Red and black interior. There is also silver detailing such as the rope inlay on the front fascia and door capping.
