8.5 3.42 Gears Gm 8.6 10 Bolt 342 Camaro Nova Fits Open, Posi, & G80 Locker on 2040-parts.com
Norristown, Pennsylvania, US
***Beware of weak imitators. I have sold OVER 1500 Quality used gear sets on Ebay since 2001.***
See my ME page for my mechanical qualifications.NOTE: PARTS COMPATIBILITY LIST IS NOT COMPLETE - EBAY ONLY ALLOWS A CERTAIN NUMBER OF ENTRIES AND I ONLY HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO LIST 1971-1988. IF YOUR VEHICLE ISN’T LISTED IT STILL FITS IF YOU HAVE AN 8.5/8.6 REAR AXLE 1989-2011.
Comes with a BRAND NEW pinion nut.
Set of GM 3.42 gears for ALL GM 8.5 OR 8.6 corporate 10 BOLT 28 OR 30 spline axles 1971-2013. Fits any differential carrier type - open, posi, locker, aftermarket, etc. Pinion has 12 teeth, ring gear has 41 teeth.
These are the stronger "8.6" version.
Very good condition. Very good wear pattern. NO damaged threads.
Comes with a BRAND NEW pinion nut and a set of the special left-hand-thread ring gear bolts GM uses.
They are stock gears for a 3 series (2.73-5.13) carrier but can be used with a 2.00-2.73 (2 series) if an 8.5 RING GEAR SPACER is used.
Will fit ANY 1971-Present GM vehicle with 8.5 rear. An 8.5 rear diff cover is pictured for reference (not included). The cover pictured is not the only version of the 8.5. The bolt-in rear axle and front axle versions look different.
These are factory installed GM gears, not cheap imported aftermarket gears.
The 8.5 is NOT the only "10 Bolt" GM used so please look at the diff cover pictured and find out what you have. After 1982 there is one other one - the 7.5/7.625. Before 1982 there are several "10 BOLT" car axles used.
The pinion does not accept the ABS ring used in the 1991-1996 "B" body cars - Caprice, Impala SS, Roadmaster, Fleetwood, etc.
8.5 POSI units and more gears on my other auctions.

UPS is responsible for transit times. Once item is shipped I have no control over how long it takes to reach you. Transit time depends on distance to be travelled among other things like shipping to a remote area. UPS business days are Monday-Friday.
Gears should always be installed by a professional. Installation of gears requires proper setup with the correct pinion and carrier shims. Pinion depth, backlash, bearing preload, contact pattern must be properly set.
Selecting the correct part is the responsibility of buyer. Item may vary slightly from file photo. The tracking number will be sent from UPS so please look for it before inquiring about it (spam folder, deleted folder, etc.). Also check your email settings because yours may be set to automatically delete what it considers "spam". I will also place the Tracking Number on file with ebay which you will be able to view from your "My Ebay" page.

BMW 1 Series M Coupe – Official +video
Fri, 09 Jul 2010The BMW 1 Series M Coupe - it's official The whole ‘Will it – Won’t it’ debate about a BMW 1 Series ‘M’ version has been rumbling on for decades (not quite, it just feels that way) with many convinced that not only would BMW make an ‘M’ car for their smallest car but would call it the M1. It was laughable (we can say that because, thankfully, we always rubbished the idea) to think BMW would waste an iconic moniker on a baby ‘M’ car. Well’ they’ve made the car but they haven’t wasted the moniker - it’s the BMW 1 Series M Coupe.
Striking new Kia concept for Frankfurt
Mon, 19 Aug 2013It wouldn’t be a motor show without a wild and outlandish concept car from Kia and it looks like the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September will be no different. Kia has announced details of the as yet unnamed concept that “hints at a possible future B-segment contender ready to take on the urban environment with style and tenacity”. It’s also said to be “playful but gutsy, sturdy yet impish” – so could it be a small crossover?
