Rare set of GM 2.56 gears for 1977- 1982 8.75 rear axles. Fits both differential carrier types - open AND posi. Pinion has 16 teeth, ring gear has 41 teeth.

These gears are NOT available aftermarket.

Very good condition. Very good wear pattern. NO damaged threads.

Comes with a BRAND NEW pinion nut and a set of the special left-hand-thread ring gear bolts GM uses.

They are stock gears for a 2 series (2.00-2.56) carrier.

Will fit ANY 1977-82 FULL SIZE GM CAR with 8.75 rear. An 8.75 rear diff cover is pictured for reference (not included). This axle has TEN cover bolts and TWELVE Left-hand ring gear bolts and uses c-clips. It was a heavy duty option used mostly in cars with 350 cu in or bigger engines or with towing packages.

The 8.75 is NOT the only "10 Bolt" GM used so please look at the diff cover pictured and find out what you have.

POSI units and more gears on my other listings.

UPS is responsible for transit times. Once item is shipped I have no control over how long it takes to reach you. Transit time depends on distance to be travelled among other things like shipping to a remote area. UPS business days are Monday-Friday.

Gears should always be installed by a professional. Installation of gears requires proper setup with the correct pinion and carrier shims. Pinion depth, backlash, bearing preload, contact pattern must be properly set.

Selecting the correct part is the responsibility of buyer. Item may vary slightly from file photo. The tracking number will be sent from UPS so please look for it before inquiring about it (spam folder, deleted folder,  etc.). Also check your email settings because yours may be set to automatically delete what it considers "spam". I will also place the Tracking Number on file with ebay which you will be able to view from your "My Ebay" page.

Ford recalling Explorer and E-series vans

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Ford is recalling its E-series van and Explorer SUV for two different reasons. The vans could develop bubbles in the windshield, decreasing visibility, while the Explorers need to have their steering gears checked. The van’s windshields were improperly manufactured, according to the NHTSA, some forming bubbles after an extended time in hot temperatures.
