McLaren Special Operations: Bespoke bits for your McLaren
Tue, 30 Aug 2011McLaren Special Operations - your McLaren, your way We reported last week that McLaren had taken a customised MP4-12C to Pebble Beach and that it heralded the start of ‘McLaren Exclusive’ to customise customer cars. We were close, but its actually McLaren Special Operations - and not McLaren Exclusive – that’s doing the customising. Mercedes SLC Gullwing caught testing
Thu, 05 Feb 2009McLaren is well on the way with development of the P11 as we saw recently, and Mercedes is definitely getting close with its replacement, the Mercedes SLC AMG Gullwing. Mercedes SLC AMG Gullwing - Caught testing and due in showrooms in 2010 Our snappers caught the Gullwing out testing, ready for the concept’s launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year. New Mercedes A Class: A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY Edition models launch
Fri, 11 Jan 2013Mercedes are launching two new eco versions of the new A Class – the A 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition and A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY Edition. Mercedes has had a play with the aerodynamics on the new A Class to lower the Cd value from an already very low 0.27 to 0.26 by partially covering the upper section of the radiator grill, adding aerodynamically shaped spring link coverings that improve the flow of air along the underbody at the rear axle and lowering the suspension by 15mm. Mercedes has also tweaked the generator management for more efficiency and had a play with the gearbox to make the ratios longer (which will help economy, but won’t do much for responsiveness).
