Viper Curtain Call: Final Snake rolls off the line in Detroit

It's the end of the line for an icon. Clad in custom bronzed-gold paint, the final current-generation Dodge Viper rolled off the assembly line on Thursday at a Detroit factory. The last one was tailored to the tastes of a loyal Viper owner, D'Ann Rauh, who with her husband, Wayne, owns more than 40 Vipers.

The 2012 BMW 3 Series is launched in the UK The 2012 BMW 3 Series has been launched by BMW UK, with just three engines available at launch and prices starting at £29,060. It’s taken a few months from the debut of the 2012 BMW 3 Series back in October to actually launching it in the UK, but now BMW UK has officially launched the sixth generation of the car that underpins their sales. Last week we had the prelude to the official UK launch with a huge gallery of UK-specific new 3 Series Photos, and there’s not a lot more to say we haven’t covered already – we even had UK prices for the new 3 Series back in October.

Fiat wants a crossover to compete against the Volkswagen Golf

Fiat has decided it won't launch a new conventional hatchback to rival the Volkswagen Golf, Europe's best-selling car. Instead, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne wants the Italian automaker to replace its slow-selling Bravo compact hatchback with an all-new high-roof crossover inspired by the hot-selling Nissan Qashqai. Marchionne first hinted at Fiat's plan to make the bold product move at the Detroit auto show in January.
