And when we first saw the Toyota FT-86 Concept at the end of 2009 (and in the flesh at Goodwood last summer) we’d expected to see it launch this year. Despite that expectation, we discovered in January that Toyota were actually taking a different concept to Geneva – the Toyota FT-86 II – dashing any hopes of the FT-86 in any shape or form hitting the road this year.

Sat, 10 May 2014The Audi R8 LMX (pictured) is the first production car with laser lights The new Audi R8 LMX is actually the most powerful R8 road car Audi has produced, but they seem keener you know that it has laser beam headlights. But that’s because they’ve beaten BMW to the punch on the laser front. As a run-out version of the current R8, the R8 LMX has a lot to offer, with more power, more toys, a hefty price tag and a debut in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month.
BMW Gran Lusso Coupe Pininfarina teased
Wed, 15 May 2013Does that mean the Gran Lusso previews a new 8 Series from BMW? Probably not, any more than last year’s BMW Zagato Coupe from Villa d’este spawned a new BMW, but it’s an interesting idea to revive a big V12 coupe when the rest of the car world is downsizing. BMW aren’t giving much away about the Gran Lusso beyond these few photos, but it’s clear from those tease photos that it has a makeup similar to the 8 Series, with a long nose, two doors and swooping coupe roofline.
