'Gran Turismo' pays tribute to Senna with 'Ayrton's Wish'
Fri, 02 May 2014Back in October, "Gran Turismo" announced a partnership with the Ayrton Senna Institute. We're finally starting to see the fruits of that labor -- a Senna-edition Playstation 3 bundle in Brazil notwithstanding. The first element of a month-long tribute from publisher Polyphony Digital is the above 20-minute film, "Ayrton's Wish." Two months before Imola, Ayrton told his sister Viviane that he wanted to give back to the country that so idolized him.
Lamborghini Murcielago production ends
Fri, 05 Nov 2010The last Lamborghini Murcielago - an LP670-4 - leaves Sant'Agata Despite the Lamborghini Jota (or Lamborghini LP700-4 as we may now have to call it) failing to make the Lamborghini stand at last month’s Paris Motor Show, the news that the last Lamborghini Murcielago has now rolled out of Sant’Agata is as clear a sign as there can be that Lamborghini’s new range-topper is just round the corner. The final Murcielago – an LP670-4 in Arancio Atlas with big wing – actually rolled off the production line in May. It was the 4,099th Murcielago to roll out of Sant’Agata, by far the biggest run of twelve-cylinder cars in Lamborghini’s history.
Porsche 911 cabriolet: First official photographs
Tue, 22 Nov 2011Porsche has developed an innovative fabric and composite-plastic folding roof for the 911 cabriolet as part of a push to give it a cleaner appearance, improved aerodynamic efficiency and greater levels of refinement than its strong-selling predecessor. Pictured here officially for the first time ahead of its world premiere in January at the Detroit auto show, the new open-top 911 is planned to go on sale in North America in 2012 in Carrera cabriolet and Carrera S models. Eschewing the traditional multilayered fabric structure of the 997 series 911 cabriolet, the next model (991 series) adopts a specially developed lightweight roof that uses two fabric-skinned composite plastic panels for the upper and rear part of the structure, giving it a more uniform shape together with a tauter fit that is claimed to make it more resistant than before to buffeting at high speeds.
