This came off a running 1981 Suzuki GS550T with what is believed to have been 17,086 miles on it. The gauges were severley damaged making the exact miles questionable. We did perform a compression test and the results are as follows: cyl1=150psi, cyl2=140psi, cyl3=145psi and cyl4=150psi. The Renault Zoe EV has set a new world record for distance travelled in an electric car in 24 hours – 1005 miles. It seems Renault are determined to prove that an electric car – in this case the Renault Zoe EV – can travel sensible distances in a sensible period of time. So they set out to run a pair of production spec Renault Zoes round the Aubevoye speed ring in Normandy for a full twenty four hours with the aim of breaking the record for distance travelled in an electric car in that time (yes, there’s a world record for everything these days).

The second-annual Pinto Stampede will take place May 17-20, beginning at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee and ending in Summit Point, W.Va., at the Jefferson 500. For those keeping track, that's 600 miles in a car that some would have you believe is little more than a rolling Molotov cocktail. For the second time, the Pinto Stampede will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that aims to “honor and empower wounded warriors” of the U.S.

The finalists for the European Car of the Year have been announced, a total of 5 finalists from a total of 34 nominees. It’s coming to the end of another year, so we’re going to be inundated with ‘Best Car of the Year’ awards for the next few weeks from all on sundry. Out of the gate today comes the final list for the European Car of the Year’ with a selection of eight cars (it was too close to call for the normal seven finalists) with the only real surprise perhaps being the inclusion of two French cars – the Renault Clio and Peugeot 208.
