Volvo makes breakthrough in battery tech
Thu, 17 Oct 2013Volvo has developed a new way of ‘storing’ energy for its future electric vehicles. The Swedish firm is exploring the concept of lightweight structural energy storage components made from carbonfibre, containing “nano structured batteries and super capacitors.” This technology is said to offer a lighter, more compact solution to the problem of energy storage, potentially removing the need for the heavy, bulky batteries used in current electric vehicles. Tue, 16 Aug 2011An intriguing teaser sketch for Eterniti Motors, a new London-based luxury car brand, has been revealed this morning. The company's website features a teaser video and an early sketch of its first vehicle, the Hemera. It will be further developed, with more evolved versions of the sketch released every week leading up to its Frankfurt debut. Judging from the sketch, the full production-ready vehicle set to make its debut in Frankfurt will be a high-level SUV crossover.
Peugeot unveils hybrid Le Mans racer

Shown off at Silverstone this weekend the hybrid 908 features a similar kinetic energy recovery setup to next year’s Formula 1 system. The 908’s ‘HY’ undertook a number of demonstration laps in front of the packed grandstands and showed how Peugeot’s passenger car technology is filtering through to its motorsport activities.
