Everyone who has a Netflix account, or uses a friend’s Netflix password, knows the documentary section is where all the action is. The only thing we’d ask for is a few more driving docs. And we hope that “Why We Drive” will enter the fray eventually, but SBR Productions needs a little help from enthusiasts.

Eight hot rods compete for Ridler Award in Detroit

The 59th Annual Autorama has taken over Cobo Center in downtown Detroit with hundreds of hot rods, customs classics cars and motorcycles in what has been billed as America's greatest hot rod show. Judges have selected eight vehicles--dubbed the Great 8--as finalists for the coveted Ridler Award that will be presented Sunday evening at the show's conclusion. Johnson Controls develops 3D Multilayer Instrument Cluster concept

Johnson Controls has developed a new instrument cluster concept that displays its information through a 3D interface. The Multilayer Instrument Cluster concept, initially intended for use in full- and mid-size luxury cars, is designed to improve the safety of the driver and the overall efficiency of the vehicle. Jeff DeBest, vice president and general manager, global electronics for Johnson Controls Automotive Experience said, "The dynamic movement and interaction of the multiple layers of information offers customers the next-generation of 3D driver assistance.
