Cash-for-clunkers clears 180,000 in sales, is poised for an extension

The cash-for-clunkers program has reached sales of more than 180,000--topped by the Toyota Corolla--as the Senate is poised to vote on an extension of the program on as soon as Thursday. The Ford Focus is the second-best-selling car under the program, and the Honda Civic, the Toyota Prius and the Camry complete the top five, according to Reuters. The top trade-ins were all domestics, including trucks from Ford and Dodge, as well as Jeep.

Ferrari Designer Donato Coco joins Lotus as Director of Design As we’ve reported umpteen times this year, Lotus are getting things very right. They’re selling the new Lotus Evora hand over fist and have plans in place to a convertible Evora and of course the new Lotus Esprit. Part of the long-term plan at Lotus is to bring the Hethel boys back to the top of the heap in the way Lotus were in the glory days of Colin Chapman.

The Lexus LF-A - a V10 Supercar - has been revealed in Tokyo Until Lexus announced it was bringing a Supercar to Tokyo, that is. After four years of waiting and endless spy shots of the LF-A pounding round the Nurburgring we finally see the official reveal of the Lexus LF-A. A glorious 4.8 litre V10 Supercar with 552bhp, 354lbs/ft of torque, a 9,000 rpm redline, a six-speed sequential ‘box, a 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of over 200mph.
