Saab is sold again: two Chinese makers buy Saab

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

Chinese car makers Pang Da and Youngman today agreed to buy Saab in its entirety from Swedish Automobile. It's the latest extraordinary twist in the saga of Saab, which has been technically bankrupt since September 2011 and built just 11,000 cars this year. The deal, which will see the Chinese car makers pay €100 million for Saab, has not yet however been signed and sealed.

Hyundai ix35 FCEV Hydrogen Fuel Cell in production by end 2012

Fri, 17 Aug 2012

Hyundai will have its hydrogen powered ix35 FCEV in production by the end of 2012 with full production by 2015. What it does signal is Hyundai’s commitment to the hydrogen fuel cell as the most sensible fuel for cars in the future and to remove our dependency on oil, and Hyundai has been out promoting that message in London.

Young drivers risking lives by 'neglecting eyesight'

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

ONE IN SEVEN young drivers put themselves and other road users in danger because of poor vision and problems with their eyesight, according to a new study. The survey, conducted on behalf of thinkaboutyoureyes.co.uk found that those in the 18-24 age bracket were far more likely than older drivers to have problems driving because of bad vision. While more than half of drivers over 55 are required to wear glasses or corrective lenses when driving compared to just a third of young drivers, almost one in ten young drivers believe they actually probably should be wearing glasses when they drive.
